English Levels

FOUNDATION (PRE A1)
A student admitted at this level can recognize the Alphabet of the target language, can say and understand a few things in the target language. However, such student finds it difficult to communicate and to understand when communicated to. OBJECTIVE: At the end of this level, the student will be able to communicate and understand quite well when communicated to, but only with some difficulty in terms of vocabulary usage.

BEGINNER (A1)
This level aims to equip learners with adequate vocabulary and some appreciable level of grammatical structure. Therefore, at the end of this level, the learners will be able to communicate in simple ways and will be able to deal with situations through a reasonably good communication.

ELEMENTARY (A2)
With the acquisition of some appreciable level of vocabulary at the Beginner level, the students at the end of this level will be able to construct simple sentences and can engage in simple conversations on familiar topics, they can communicate and can understand when communicated to on topics of their interest after successfully completing this level.

PRE-INTERMEDIATE (B1)
At the end of this level, the student is expected to be able to participate in short conversations on topics of interest. The student will be able to communicate with native speakers reasonably well on topics of interest. The range of vocabulary acquisition as well as ability to use grammatical structure is improved by the end of this level

INTERMEDIATE (B2)
The student at the end of this level will be able to communicate without much difficulty. The student can understand and express complex ideas and topics. The student will be able to speak and write fluently on everyday issues. Lastly, at the end of this level, the student will be able to use the language in a variety of contexts.

UPPER INTERMEDIATE
Upon completion of this level, the student will be able to communicate freely and effectively to express his/her feelings, opinions, plans, and experiences. The students at the end of this level will have the capacity to communicate with native speakers with confidence and minimal grammatical mistakes.

ADVANCED
This level is the last level at the Institute. A student who goes through this course successfully stands the chance to acquire the ability to communicate fluently in the language. The student can also have the capacity to use a wide range of vocabulary acquired in earlier levels and in this level to communicate and express complex situations in a flexible and effective manner.
